FIGURES OF THE WEST
Figures of the West presents contemporary artists, musicians, writers, and cultural figures whose work continues to shape the American West. Using the nineteenth-century wet plate collodion process, these portraits place living subjects within a visual language historically associated with the early photographic record of the frontier. Photographed within the same landscapes that inform my broader work, the images explore how identity, place, and cultural memory intersect, suggesting that the story of the West is not fixed in history but continually reshaped by those who interpret and inhabit it.
